:( Abode dreamweaver - How to create rectangle.

I am posting as you dont have any section for Dreamwever in Abode section.

I started working on dreamweaver cs5, however I am stuck.

I dont know how to create a rectangle.

I followed the instructions ...

# Make sure you are in Design View (View > Design).
# Make sure you are in Layout mode, not Standard mode (View > Table Mode > Layout Mode).
# Select Insert > Layout Objects > Layout Table.

p When I tried this ..
In the last stage, the Layout Objects - submenus doesnt have the option Layout Table.
The options I get under this menu are : DIV Tag, Ap Div, and different spry options.
There is no LAyout Table option.

Please help.

Perhaps you should just go for Insert->Table ?

(What do tables have to do with rectangles?)

dont know, it was in instructions.

I'd go looking for a few very basic HTML tutorials to get started. You need to think what the tutorial is teaching rather than just follow instructions. I'm guessing they are using a table background color to make a colored rectangle.

Now I don't know if I am giving you totally the correct info as I only use CS3 DW but if you hold down Alt + F6 that takes you to "Table Mode, - Layout Mode" and if I can remember correctly you will then be asked to state the number of rows and columns that you wish. Instead doing tutorials that you just follow to learn why not use Adobe TV and it starts you off right from the beginning and takes you forward at this Link:http://tv.adobe.com/channel/web/web-design/

Adobe really provide help to their customers from sharing centres, forums, books and really loads of things and I would join the Adobe community and if you have registered any of the products its no problems. I've attended loads of free conferences throughout the UK and they also have free internet training on a live broadcast where you can ask questions when you are doing a tutorial.

In my version of 5, I went to insert/layout objects/ AP Div and it made a rectangle, which you can move around and resize, type text in, or import images into. Is that what you meant?
