Default Is PSPX2 compatible with Windows 7?

I've found confusing results in my efforts to find out whether my PSP X2 is compatible with Windows 7.

Would you advise me simply to upgrade to PSP X3 instead?

    Thanks,

    S.

PSPX2 works well in Windows 7.

Even if it did not you can install much older software on Windows 7 using the Compatibility features and they work well.

PSPPX2 works fine in Windows 7.
Personally, I wouldn't advise anyone to upgrade to X3.
Corel, in their wisdom, decided against Beta testing and it shows.

Actually, public beta participation in the development of Paint Shop Pro has not been available since Corel purchased the program from Jasc several versions ago. PSP, now titled PaintShop Photo Pro X3 -- PSPPX3 --still has memory leaks and other bugs that were present in X2 and earlier versions experienced by some users. Save your money, continue to use X2 and look ahead and for an alternative that's 32- and 64-bit and able to take advantage of the additional memory capabilities of Windows 7. Cnet is a good place to look for reviews of alternatives. Remember, you can usually download a 30-day demo of virtually any software package these days. Try before you buy.

I have not had any problems with PSPPX2 in Windows 7.
Funnily enough, when someone asked this question in the Corel User to User Forum, the 'resident' Corel official said it didn't.
I think he was hoping to sell X3, (which in my book is best avoided).

As I indicated earlier, the problems have been "experienced by some users." For others like you, there have been none or few problems. Both the PSP Users Group forum and the official Corel Users Forum are full of reports from folks with PSPPX3 "challenges."
