This is how the files and folder should look. Excellent.

I would suggest to delete all these files.

Export the website again, but this time, name the file index.html

The folder for your images, scripts, CSS file, etc. will be in the index_html_files folder.

Publish these files to your web hosts server. To give a link to people to see the website, do not include the index.html. The browser looks for this file and loads it automatically.

I seem to be getting similar folders and files, one with htm extension and the other html. It seems to be saving both?

    It's done it again.

Do I have to save my main doc. 'index'. What if I am creating many different sites - I need to give them different names.

If you name your file when you export index, Xara automatically adds the .htm to all the the files. If you name your file index.html then all your files will have the .html extension.

So, use one or the other when you save your files.

Does it matter if it's html or htm?

    html takes precedence over htm.

What this means is if you have two index files in your folder, index.htm and index.html, even if the index.htm was just created and the index.html is very old, the web browser will always load the index.html file. This is why I say to always name your file index.html.
