Is there any easy way to move a menu item within a nav bar group rather than deleting it and adding it again in a new location.

If the menu was created with the Navigation Bar Tool, double click on the menu bar to open the Navigation Bar Properties dialog, then drag the title bar of the page to the desired location. You can also change the button names by clicking two times on the Button and Menu title.
