jigsaw shapes

Ive just moved across to WIN 7 and now thinking i need to upgrade from XX2 to Designer tho i havent used xx2 for some time!
Is there an easy way to create a jigsaw out of a photo (apart from doing it totally freehand) and be able to slice apart the separate parts so they can be re arranged either as one graphic or exported as individual pieces for digital scrapbooking. I also want to be able to cut the shapes out using a craft cutter - it will scan and trace then cut each piece - then they can be used for paper scrapbooking!
I had looked at a dedicated little program for creating jigsaws but if im upgrading Xara for £45 i dont really want to spend another £34 on another program!!

Hi,
There is a TTF font available for download on the Dafonts (I believe). You just have to arrange them into a puzzle with image.

Draw a set of segments and reshape with the shape edit tool. Convert the line to shapes , add shapes and break shapes.
