unable to get mouseover effect

I just got web designer 6 and I am trying to follow the movie tutorial for creating a mouse over effect on some photos. I do exactly as it says but when I view the page
I get no effect on then. They stay bw and blurry. The tutorial says its the same for version 5 or 6. can someone help me?
