Default Seamless Background from a single image without tiling?

    Hi,

In XWD6 I wish to create a seamless background image such as the the one on these websites:

    http://www.countyepossystems.co.uk/
    http://www.simplycartridge.co.uk/
    http://www.ontopwebdesign.co.uk/portfolio.html
    http://www.lilrockers.co.uk/
    http://www.itinthecity.com/

As a test I have saved the backgrounds from these websites and tried to recreate the effect in XWD6 without success. I have opened the bitmap gallery and tried CTRL+ dragging onto the pasteboard and main background areas, but the result is not the same. XWD6 seems to assume the left side of the picture begins at the left border of the webpage and does not center the image in the background.

Here is what happens when the image is CTRL+Dragged from the bitmap gallery onto the paste board.

If anyone knows how to center wide images in the background so this effect does not happen I would appreciate it greatly.

    Kind regards,

    Ian.

Hello Ian and welcome to TalkGraphics

Have a look at John Horn's Tweakset

Many of his "tweaks" determine the behavior of a background image. And the Tweakset is free!
