I need to know basic information such as

-when did graphic design become popular
-about how many jobs in (california) are graphic design related
-any history to do with graphic design, or any statistics

(more related to xara)
-when did it get released
-what is the actual title of xara (I call it a graphic design program, is that correct?)
-any backround history to xara would be helpful

I dont expect ancwers to each question, more like places that may be helpful to find this information. I have looked on some search engines, but havnt really found anything yet

I'm curious ... did you mean graphic design or just computers used in graphic design. If it's graphic design in it's entirety you'll be looking at one large time frame.

What search engines did you use. I really find google is good ... especially the advanced search as it gives you more control

Xara is a vector graphics drawing application. It is in the same general category as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, CorelDRAW, and Deneba Canvas. There are others, these are the major players.
