Default How is the position of a repeating object determined?

I have an icon on page one that is at the bottom of my vertical navigation bar. When I ask it to repeat on all pages, the object is repeated relative to the bottom of the page, not from the top. So on the rest of the pages it's the same distance from to bottom of the page and not at the bottom of the nav bar. Is there a way to make a repeating object be relative from the top instead of the bottom?

This thread may have a solution. Soft grouping may also help but I have not experimented with that yet.

Soft grouping wasn't what I needed. I just made the page extra long so the icon was closer to the top than the bottom. Then I repeated on all pages. Worked fine. Thanks!

Repeating objects can't very well function predictably if all pages are not the same.
