Brush question

Hi Xperts.

I am creating a brush.

Well, I thought I had done this before and set about creating the two shapes I wanted. Clicked on the Pen tool and created the brush.

I then drew an outlined circle and applied my shape brush to it.

What I wanted to do now was to change the colour.

Can't do it. The shapes just stay as the original colour.

If I apply 'Convert Line to Shapes' then I can change the colour but then the brush is not changeable any more.

Is what I have done correct?

If you edit the brush - "Local colours replace" all brush colours then you can recolour from the colour line. The other option is making the brush with named colours.

Hi Keith.

Thanks for sorting that one for me!
I went into 'Edit Brush' and then into 'Fill Properties' tab and selected the 'All brush colours' option.

Great.

I now have another problem. Well, maybe not a problem but something that I cannot seem to create in the brush.

Attached is the shape I would like to apply to a line having created the brush.

I cannot do it.

No matter where I place the shapes, my brush just doesn't produce what I want.

have you grouped them?

also tile fills in fill properties - you may need to tick/untick this to get the effect you want

While you can certainly change the all brush colours settings, I have found that itis easier to create your brush using a named colour, then you can take advantage of the GNMORA feature. See my example here

One tip though if you plan on saving your brush for future use go into options and at the bottom of the view tab clear the check mark from delete unused colours. That way it will be sure to load with your named colour.

Hi handrawn.

I am so annoyed because I grouped the very first time I tried to create this brush.

And now having grouped and created the brush - it all seems to work now.

Arrrggghhhhh !!!

Well, anyway, thanks to you guys and gals, everything is peaceful again!
