Default Feature Req. Illustrator Style Guided Snapping

In illustrator (although its slow and rubbish!) .. it has guidelines that you can snap too. Tools recodnise when they are at 90degrees 45degrees etc. .. we need this.. a grid is NOT a complete solution for a designer.

Still wont go back though :-) LOL...

Xtreme/Web Designer and Designer Pro all have guidelines which you can snap to.
To enable the guideline snapping select Window>>Snap to Guides or press Num2

If you enable the Rulers (Ctrl+L) you can drag a Vertical and/or horizintal ruler guide to any position on the page (not limited to one).

Additionally, you can draw any shape on the guide layer (See the Page & Layer gallery for the guide layer) and this becomes a guide shape/object to snap drawing layer objects to.

You can create a constrained angle guide of a 45 and 90 degree (for example) line on the guide layer while holding the Ctrl key.

It will be greyed out until (and unless) you have a guide to snap to.
