no need to make it a big deal - I only mentioned it in passing...

Okay, after hearing that Designer Pro 7 stutters along for the most part via wine I gave my copy of P&GD 6 another go on wine 1.3.28 running on ubuntu 11.11

Mouse input does not appear to be accepted at all once loaded, but [alt] menu short-cuts can be accessed!!

Using alt+h to open the help menu lets you open the update program feature.
one you run the process, whether there is an update to be installed or not, the application then appears to become correctly focused and works via mouse - or Logitec tracker ball in my case. Success!

my WACOM graphire tablet works also with pressure sensitivity but i have general issues with it rapidly scrolling off page making it unusable at the moment.

also, fonts cause out of memory errors.

but, in case you missed it, there is a huge sense of joy over here at having even limited and glitchy use of my favourite graphics application. Wine appears to be catching up, so if Xara developers enter into any sort partnership Wine devs to strengthen Wine's integrity I'll be over the moon.
