Default Transparency Effects Fill but Not Outline

How can I toggle between either or both when using the graded transparency tool on an object.

Say text with an outline, it will currently only effect the fill..

    What am I missing?

PS... I Still ADORE this program LOL

Lines are lines...the only way to fill a line is to convert to a shape, if you want the outlane to have gradient fill .

interestingly you can give a line a flat transparency but not any other kind. Unfortunately as far as I know there is no way to change this. there are workarounds: As Scotty suggested , convert line to shape or you can group the line with its self then the other kinds of transparencies will work.

Yeah its a bummer for workflow, but convert line to shape / copying original etc.. is good enough..

    Thanks..

In fact, if you don't want your outline cut in half by the fill, you absolutely must group the object before applying any kind of transparency. That's probably one for the Tips & Tricks section, too.

You can give a line a gradient fill, but you have to cheat a bit - check out this post

That is very clever Keith. I wonder why that was never put into the tips and tricks. I'll have to rectify that

By the same method, you can also do filled shapes ..... from the same thread as above. Sorry, to reference this other thread, but I do think that it is relevant to the original post.

Works the same for transparencies on text as per the original post ....
