Does Designer Pro 6 support scanning?

Now that it appears that it's possible to edit photos in Xara Designer Pro 6, does this version support scanning? I am currently using Xara Pro 5 and I am currently using Photoshop Elements 7 to scan in photos, which I then have to import into Xara.

It would be awesome if Designer Pro could also support TWAIN scanning.

Look forward to downloading the new version once I get unburied from all the paid work. Although it's nice to finally have bunch of paying jobs

There is a free utility Dmitry Malutin’s MicroScan found in the Xara Xone Shareware Page

It is about 1/2 way down the page.

Ack! I was wrong. There is only a link to Dmytry's website (which as several other free utilities). Let me see if I can track it down and post here if I can find it.

I also had this problem with scanning.
What I have been doing is to use the scanning facility in
Microsoft paint ( In Windows 7 ), saving the image to wherever and then using the import facility in Xara.

I have requested scanning ability in Xara for years to no avail. Of course the big gun Illustrator does not have it either.

If I use Microscan for Xara will it take over scanning for my other software programs?

Microscan integrates with TWAIN - so you should be able to use any other program that uses TWAIN as normal

its very good - only one issue for me - it closes the TWAIN after each scan which means that my scanner is switching itself on and off at each and every scan which is not good for batch, but ok for single scans
