"Load cancelled by Escape"

I'm getting an intermittent problem when starting XWD6 Pro.

When the program is loading I get a message box saying "Load cancelled by Escape" and then it crashes completely.

This has never happened with any other Xara product I've used on this PC.

Anyone else experienced it?

that sounds a bit technical to me

there have been changes in the way the ESC key functions in the new version and its possible there is a conflict with something else in your system

I think you should raise it with Xara support - detailing your system specs

Okay, this was really frustrating...

I tried reinstall with 'repair' and no luck. I tried shutting down apps I thought may be conflicting, but no luck with launching. I have Vers 6 and 5 inistalled, tried running one of those and got the same msg with each. Finally, I simply held the ESC key down and tried launching, and it loaded right up. Maybe it works for others, maybe not.

I dont know how to trigger the error or I would do further testing...


Whadda u know? It didnt FUNCTION after loading, and the error came right back. Will update as I find out more, but Im guessing I'll have to reboot/reinstall.

Reboot seems to have fixed it. But then, technically I had already tried reinstalling with 'repair' so...
