    For converting, I use http://www.flash-swf-converter.com/. It is about $50. Curious to know how it compares to others, but I couldn't find any others that worked good to compare it to during my search.

    I don't usually need to go from AVI to SWF. It's the other way around. To date, I've have very poor success with converters. In some attempts, most of a 4 minute movie looked good, but then there would be a few bad spots that made the output unusable. In other cases, the white background (necessary for the project) was universally tinted green or pink or gray.

    Don't know if there are similar problems going SWF to AVI.
