I used this program and I was always able to go the "Material Editor", go down to "maps", check bump for example, choose bitmap in the maps section, and I'd get a texture and bump mapping bricks if I chose it. Now, I only get the bumped bricks, and everything is still gray. The picture is red, and it would come out like red bricks, but now it does gray. HELP! Please e-mail me or something.

you have to define it as a bump map and add/overlay it to the red color texture. I'm not sure, because I don't use you app, but since all apps work almost identical, this could be the trick.

A "bump" map ONLY applies the illusion of depth, NOT color. To get the color, you have to apply your chosen bitmap to the "Diffuse Color" section of the maps in your material.

It didn't work - you can't choose Diffuse Color and Bump, for example, only one of them. I remember it worked on another computer, same version and everything. I have no idea what's wrong?!

It's MAX specific, so they'll know the answer.

    Good luck.

User1, perhaps you should go through some of the tutorials that come with Max...
