    Default Brush Bugs

    Xara Xtreme Pro 5.1.2.10703 CD
    WinXP 32bit

    1) Get 2 small images (.jpgs) into Xara.
    2) Select both images and select 'create brush'.
    3) Draw a line with that brush.
    4) In the Brush Settings > Fill Properties > Tick off Tile fills.
    5) In the Brush Settings > Spacing > Sequence progress: Random.
    6) Click several times on "Random" and see how the line changes the picture.
    7) Apply a drop shadow on the line.
    8) In the Brush Settings > Spacing > Sequence progress: Random.
BUG1: Click several times on "Random" and since the drop shadow has been applied it doesn't change the pictures anymore.

Bug2: After step 7, any entered value on the keyboard (and pressing return after) in the Brush Settings are ignored while the shadow is on.
E.g.: Edit Brush > Spacing > Spacing), type in 50, press return, nothing happens.
Move with the mouse the spacing value slider, the Xara window flickers and changes the spacing value only by 0.4% at a time. Weird behaviour.

    Another one:

    1) Open the color palette (CTRL+E) and create a red, save this as a named color.
    2) Create another color (a dark blue, almost black), and save this as a named color. There should be 2 new named colors in the color palette you just created.
    3) Get 2 small images (.jpgs) into Xara.
    4) Select both images and right click on the color palette on the red color, "Set Contone Light Color".
    5) With both images still selected and right click again on the color palette on the dark blue color, "Set Contone Dark Color". Please notice, the colors are linked to the pictures. If you change one of the colors they change the Contone of both pictures.
    6) With both images selected 'create brush'.
    7) Draw a line with that brush.
    8) In the Brush Settings > Fill Properties > Tick off Tile fills.
    9) Change the red color or the dark blue color (which should be linked to the colors used in the brush) - they are not anymore.

BUG: The color link is lost using images in a brush.

And another issue regarding selecting brushes in 'view quality 0', all objects on the same layer. Even if you see the pure outlineline of a brushes line, its impossible to select objects underneath.

    Not impossible.
    Use Alt+Click

Sledger, open up the attachment "SelectMe.xar" in the previous post.
Set the 'View Quality' to 0 (outlines).
Even with ALT+CLICK you can not select the "Select Me in View Quality 0" - textline.

Pressing ALT changes the mouse cursor 'upside down' but still doesn't make it possible to click underneath the line.

    Opened attached file in XXP5.

Selected the text with Alt+Click successfully in both max and min quality modes.

What should I do to have this problem?

Ha ha, OK, I tried again and again - it works _but_ you need to click *twice*.
The first click selects the line, the 2nd click selects the text. Touche Sledger, touche my friend

Because each Alt+Click drills down to the next object.

    Thanks Sledger!
The first two issues still remain.
