    Question Navbar Problem

I tried to make use of the new navbar option in WD6 by creating a new button but I allways get the message “sorry, the current selection is not suitable for creating a navigation bar ….”
It works with the supplied button templates so I suppose I’m doing something wrong with the button creation. If anyone can give me some pointers I would be very grateful

You need a group that contains a text object and some graphics.

    Question Re: Navbar Problem

I used the quickshape tool to draw a rectangle, changed the color, then added some text, made a duplicate to paste in the mouseover layer, changed the color again, then i selected everything and applied as softgroup
i'm not really sure what you mean by "text object",

How did you create the text? In the help files it says don't drag out a column or text area, just start typing from the cursor or else the text object won't be of the correct type.

i must say that the rest of the program works flawless and really is a lot better than WD5, the option optimise all jpg's is a big timesaver

You had not grouped the text and the shape in your button.
On every state (off, over, down) you need to have a group (not soft-group) that contains a text object and a graphics.
You have created correct text and graphics but you didn't group it.
So, for your design, remove the soft group. Group objects on the mouseoff layer. Then group objects on the mouseover layer. Then soft-group these two groups. That's it.

Museover MUST be on top. Read help for details on layer ordering.
