Default Re: Fantasy maps created using Xara Xtreme

This one is not a Xara creation, almost entirely done in 3D (Nendo 1.1 for the casket, Poser 5 for the girl, and Raydream Studio for the lighting/rendering). I did apply the skin color, lip color and hair as shapes with color in Xara, then given a stained-glass transparency to blend with the shadow values in the image below them. This is a dead girl in a glass casket. Note I applied a refraction in the glass, which is what caused the girl to have 2 sets of eyes. I didn't know it was going to split her eyes, but I did know that the refraction effects would appear. I let the software do its thing, and not applied a judgement call. I'm keeping it, it is what it is. Enjoy!

I thought I'd posted this earlier, but did not, here's a Lion Shrine in some exotic jungle, there are only suppositions as to why there is fresh blood under the lion altar... This one is purely XDP9.

    Enjoy!

Just a note of "thank you", to all the viewers of this thread, because of all your views, this thread has been mentioned in May 2014 Xara Outsider, and I will be posting some of my Xara only created maps to the Xara.com Gallery - which is very cool! I'll post a link here when that has been done!

As inspiration for more gothic horror objects, creating icons in a vaccuum with no context stifles ideas for me. So I decided to create a small gothic castle mostly to prompt ideas for populating it. So I've already created the first the floors of structure, and starting to furnish it. So far furnishing details are limited to the first floor, the great hall. I've create a full banquet of food on the dining table, a couple mounted animal heads on the wall, full suits of armor (by the north central fireplace), a throne area, a chapel altar on the opposite wall. Still a few more things to create before I move to the next floor.

    Work-in-progress...

Well, I completed the castle map with the above posted great hall level, followed by palacial level, residential level, rooftop & rookery, cellar level and dungeon level. I finished the project with the creation of a castlegrounds map. Now I'm being goaded to release this as a map product PDF, and that should be out soon.
