Has anyone any idea how I can go about creating an animated rippling water effect that I can overlay with text or which I could possibly use to overlay an illustration on a web page?
Any hints or clues if not direct links will be appriciated.

Hi Derek,
have you considered using one of Xara's own online modules, called Rippling Reflection? It's in the Animated Photo Effects section on this page.
