    Default Publishing to directory

My hosting company says I need to list which directory I want my site to be in. I have the Host address, OK, my user ID works, and the password is OK. Will using the (optional) sub folder box on Xara send it to the correct directory if I fill that in?
    Thanks,
    KW

    Welcome to the forums,

Yes the sub-folder option is for just this purpose.

For example, if your host space web folder (root) folder is public_html then entering /public_html would be right.

Steve, that little sub-folder is a gem everyone who, like me, has little knowledge in web hosting.

I had spend hours with startlogic trying to get things put where they belong on the server and putting "public_html" in the sub-folder worked perfectly.

I am sure it is covered somewhere in Xara as to it's importance but maybe should be covered with a little larger text or something to make it stand out.

    Tks much - jb

So thankful I found this post. It answers my question posted in another thread. So thank you Moderator Sledger. Silly me. I actually had it on my mind to try this in the subfolder, but I changed my mind because later on I want to publish a sub web and thought it my stuff things up.
