    Default Importing file/graphis into XaraX

Often but not always whenI try to import a fie or picture into XaraXtreme 5 the import goes into Windows Photo Gallery instead. If I try to open the import from the Gallery into XaraX, it opens a new XaraX window when I wish to use it in an already open XaraX window. After various attempts it finally goes where I had wanted it to, but I still don"t know how or why?

I never use the Windows Photo Gallery, so I can't comment on any issues with that. As for importing images into Xtreme, have you tried dragging & dropping from your file manager (Windows Explorer)?

amoore --If not using Windows photo Gallery, do you have a program to display a number of thumb nails simultaneously? I used Thumbs plus in the past but can get Ver 8 to only open one at a time now? I don't really like Win Photo Gallery but do wish to visually scan thru a major directory full of thumbs without opening them one by one Thanks

    Try FASTSTONE Viewer. Freeware

    Now back to topic.

Importing as photo or bitmap image into Xtreme:

    File>>Import

Or as Alison mentioned, drag'n'drop from Windows Explorer.

Other software allows you to drag'n'drop into Xtreme, such as Faststone mentioned above, also PICASA photo manager.

For thumbnails, I primarily use XnView (www.xnview.com, wonderful freebie). I also have:

    - ST Thumbnails Explorer (not free), which is ok.

    - Dimitry's X2 viewer for xar, cmx and ai files, although I haven't been using it as much since both XnView and ST Thumbnails can display limited thumbnails for xar files. (Still comes in handy. Thanks again, Dimitry. )

Plus, my file manager of choice (Explorer Plus, no longer in development) has a built-in viewer.
