    Default Creating Icicles

    Hello,

There have been numerous threads here on TalkGraphics relating to snow, ie snow-covered fonts, snowflakes etc.

Can somebody please give me some pointers on how draw icicles. I wish to recreate something similar to this web site www.helpforheroes.org.uk (you will get a pop up that requires closing as it will cover up the icicles running along near the top of the web page).

How do you create a row full of varying height icicles?

    Thank you, DiscoverIT

Have you tried creating a 'brush' for this?

    BlackPanther,

What you have achieved is excellent. Is it possible to have your instructions or can you post your xar file so I can examine it more closely please.

    Thank you, DiscoverIT

Here are some variations on an icicle.

The simple ones are a tapered line with a fractal plasma fill. Some have fractal plasma transparency added. And a few have a clone with a stained glass linear fill to give shape.

    Here is my attempt.
Started out with simple icicles shape created with the pen tool. Fractal plasma fill, cracklure plugin, wave plugin, then importantly- gaussian blur followed by photo tool sharpening which creates a lot of noise artifacts.
