    Default gone missing

My copy of 'the book' arrived today, hot off the rowing boat that had sped across the Atlantic to deliver it.
It’s all looking very interesting and informative but I immediately noticed that someone had allowed one of my snails to escape from a picture of mine used in ‘the book’ somewhere at the back.
If you have the book you will be able to see where the snail now isn’t.
More to the point though, I was wondering where its got to and if anyone is feeding it

The Evil Overlord of PostScript™, I fear.

Derek, I cannot tell you how sorry I am about this gaffe; the proofs looked splendid, but soft proofs aren't PostScript—and because there were so many complex objects in your file (over 700 on 12 layers, many objects with dozens of control points), some objects failed to print.

I can offer to put a large reproduction on our website with links, and also to try to convince the publisher that if there will be a version 6 book, we'll reprint it correctly this time.

    My Best,

    Gary

I’m not particularly precious about these things so don’t see it as complaint.
To be honest I sort of assumed I’d probably sent the file with a layer switched off or something of the sort.

It is in the soup on page 303, those darn frenchies

    Or

During the printing and cutting proces it sustained to
many paper cuts, we tried to save it, but, we failed.
