One thing that I've learned over the years is that program-ending errors that come out of nowhere (especially if you can't reproduce them) are often related to a hardware problem, usually a damaged hard drive.

Recently I cursed one of my music DAWs up and down when it alone began crashing left and right. After about a month of suffering, the drive where I kept my audio data failed completely. After I replaced the drive - no more crashes.

Not that there aren't legitimate bugs in Xara (as in any program) - but it's good to keep in mind that some crashes could have external causes.
