Default Bug: .xar files which cause v5 to crash.

    Hi,

    Using:

    Xara Xtreme 4.0.4966 CD, and
    Xara Xtreme 5.1.1.9166 CD

I've found that the following files will load into the v4 version of Xtreme, but v5 will crash either with a Data Execution Prevention dialogue, or an access violation exception at 0x06613F60 (however the address varies).

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2347900/xara/crashes-in-v5.xar (2.5M)
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2347900/xara...es-in-v5-3.xar (0.7M)
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2347900/xara...es-in-v5-4.xar (5.2M)

All contain large-ish images. A common factor could be the use of XPE's enhance effect.

    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Have you logged a ticket with Xara support and included reference to these files and information about your particular system?

None of them cause XX5 or XXP 5 to crash here.

I can agree with Steve here with all files. What did happen mind you I had many windows opened with other programmes running and the largest file stopped responding after about 2 minutes of trying to open the file but that was a memory.
    Design is thinking made visual.

Strange. They repeatably crash on my home machine, but I've just tried them on my work machine and they load without a problem. Identical versions of Xtreme 5 are installed on both machines.

I've seen a similar problem occur on both machines where files which load in v4 will crash v5. I'd thought I'd narrowed it down in these sample files, but evidently not.
