How are you trying to change the number of steps?
I'm not having any trouble typing in a new value. Could you describe the steps you're taking?
I am following the video tutorial to the letter ....... I create two objects then go to the blend tool and drag one to the other and get a blend of 5 steps ....I then go the to box with 5 steps in it and change it to say 10 steps ......when i go back to the pick tool it just goes back to 5 steps and nothing changes

Are you pressing Enter after changing the number of steps? Silly question, I know, but hey, always worth asking.
Huh, I just made an interesting shape while checking out the procedure.
BTW, that's just a star and an ellipse with a 50-step blend.

That was the problem .....I need to press enter .......simple but crucial....lol
It doesn't say that on the video tutorial ....just enters the number of steps and it changes ....but the tutor must be pressing the enter button without saying .
Thanks again
Mike

Mike, you are not alone. When I first started using XX none of my entered amounts would stay put either, lol. Someone finally asked the same question of me about pressing 'enter'. 'Enter' does the trick

When I first started using computers (Commodore PET chicklet keyboard), there was a book out titled "Nothing happens until you press Return" (Enter nowadays).
So this is an age old issue that does pop up once in a while and everyone has done it. No need to feel stupid as it's just a matter of computer practises.
Ed......:-)
