Thangka painting with Xara Extreme

I posted this in the Graphics Gallery, but one of the forum visitors suggested I posted it here as well.

I recently - about 8 month ago - picked up Thangka painting. Thangkas are tradional Buddhist images, painted on canvas. I am taken lessons with a tradional teacher, who teaches me all about the underlying grids, colours and shading techniques. I do differ in one aspect from the other students in my class: my images are done entirely in Xara Xtreme.

The Amitayus is my first completed work. The Amitabha is ´work in progress. More images can be found at www.digitalthangka.com

With the small thumbs I prefer the 2nd image but at full view I prefer the first image. Both are expertly done.
