Thanks Sledger.
I was using a pair of zoom lenses (12-24mm and 24-70mm) but to get the right balance between ISO and shutter speed (anything between 1 second to 6 seconds) I had to use apertures of around F9. Tripod was essential as was guessing where the firework was going to go!

Those are really very nice and crisp. Fireworks are not easy to photograph.
The second one especially good

Thank you Jimi Kink and John.
They are a bit tricky to photograph as you never know what's coming next or where it's going to happen. Part way through the show, I did spot a pattern where there seemed to be 3 different heights the fireworks reached so I framed at those heights, anticipated when the mortars were going to go off and hoped for the best!

I really enjoy looking at all your photographs. You have posted an impressive portfolio over the last few weeks.
Regarding the pictures in the present post, I find the second particularly appealing.

Talking of lights in the Scottish sky ... though a bit of a traipse for you Graeme [if I've got my geography right]

Thank you Spondoolix for your very kind sentiments. I'm really pleased you enjoyed the photos. Thank you too Joe!
Jimi - sorry about misspelling your user name!
Thanks for the interesting link, John, I wish I lived near there! The last time I had a power cut, I took advantage of it and tried to photograph the milkyway - below. Despite what seemed like total darkness, the surroundings looked like the streetlights were still on in the photo!
