    I wish this could be solved by a CTRL-R function.

    When I used to use Freehand, 'repeat last function' was a very useful command.

    If it worked the way I think it should work you could change the size of the first square then select all the other squares and repeat the last function(CTRL-R).

    I hope the upgrade will have something like this.

    The suggested contour tool does solve the problem surely. So the answer to the specific grid example given above would be;

    - Select all the objects. Go into Contour tool
    - Type 2.5 pixel into the info Contour width field (added to both sides making your 25 pixel squares 30 pixels)
    - Click the Inset path icon on the InfoBar to make the contour outline the new shape.

    Perfect 30 pixel squares, all centered on their original positions. All in a couple of clicks.

    but what if you wanted to rotate instead of resize them and maintain the original position?

    A repeat last function would be helpful here.

    Well Spyro didn't write _relative_ position, but _original_ position, so I would think he would like to keep the objects stay put where they are?

    --- So it's even easier than my suggested way of performing add shapes and break shapes. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

    The Insert Path feature... never saw it before... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif But I will use it now.

    Actually Risto's method is of value too, if you want to keep the original size and the new size.

    P.s. After you made the contour, another way of doing it is simply convert to editable shapes and then ungroup.
