Default To add any of the fill collections to Xara

To add any of the fill collections to Xara, first download the files from this site. Create a new folder and extract the Zipped files to this new folder. Open the Fill Gallery and press the Disc Fills... button. Browse to the new folder containing the fills I’ve done all that but the file name isn’t showing in the folder so I can select the file name and press Add. Xara will display a message informing you that no index exists for these fills and would you like one to be created. Press Create and Xara will create a new folder with small thumbnail images. That’s all there is to it

You only need to select the folder not the individual files. Xara will then add all the files in the folder.

    Hi Christine

    I’m struggling

My HD is in two partitions C & F

    I want the FIRE BRUSH

I down load fire-brush.zip into a folder call FILLS & BRUSHES in F partition on my HD

I extract the fire-brush.zip into a folder called FIRE

    I do all this

To add any of the fill collections to Xara, first download the files from this site. Create a new folder and extract the Zipped files to this new folder. Open the Fill Gallery and press the Disc Fills... button. Browse to the new folder containing the fills. Select the file name and press Add. Xara will display a message informing you that no index exists for these fills and would you like one to be created. Press Create and Xara will create a new folder with small thumbnail images. That’s all there is to it.

When I press create it comes up with this

Can’t find any suitable files to add to the index for the specified folder

    Hi Clive

in the extracted folder there should be a xar file [called Fire-Brush I think]

all you need to do to access the brush is to open this file in xtreme

it is important not to make changes to the file though - so as soon as you have opened the file close it [but do not close xtreme itself]

the brush will stay loaded in memory and be available until you exit xtreme

using this method it does not matter where you keep the Fire-Brush.xar file as long as you can access it to open it

if you want the brush to open automatically - copy the Fire-brush.xar file to your
program files>xara>xara xtreme [which ever version you use]>templates>eng>brushes folder

but be aware if you copy too many brushes here you risk slowing xtreme down seriously

brushes and fills are completely seperate things in xtreme...
