    Default Google analytics

    Help anyone.
I am trying to insert the code provided by Google (Google analytics), but inserting the provided code in a placeholder, which is about my limit, doesn't seem to work as its reported as not being present by Google, ie, 'tracking not installed'. Any suggestions by anyone with experience of this would be very welcome.

Derek - It takes a little while for Google to find the code. Usually 24 hours.

I have used it for several sites and it works very well.

    Check your Analytics page tomorrow.

    Hi Derek,

I think the code should be placed in the Page >> Tracker code section.

Correct, the Tracker code feature was designed with Google analytics in mind.

Ok, that explains two things; what to do with the code and what Traker Code section is for. Clear now thanks to all.

The xml file has to be in the root folder of the site - where the index.htm(l) page is.

I *think* it can be deleted once Google has verified your site. I can't find a reference to it in their help, but I am sure I have had to do this in the past...
