Inserting Barcode???

Hi all,
I am working on designing packaging for one of our new products and have come accross an issue. How can I insert a Barcode into my project? Has anyone came accross this before? I am using the new Xtreme Pro 5.

Do you have software to create the barcode?

If so, can the software save to an image file?

Import the image and position it within your design.

I don't know of any free programs that will print barcodes.

Will you be using UPC and/or EAN barcodes?

A relatively inexpensive barcode program can be purchased for $45 at

If you are from USA I suppose you use UPC A or E it depends if your barcode is 6 or 12 figures in lenght.

I am using UPC-A. I will need it more in the future as well, so a program is the best way. Thanks for your help, Mike

I have CorelDraw x3 which has a barcode insert utility but there are a number of formats for it that I don't understand.

I use to generate barcodes (EAN13) Inkscape.
It works perfectly.
Generating -> save as pdf -> Import to Xara

Ya, first, you should generate barcodes though some barcode generator software, then, using the genarated barcodes within your product according to your needs.

You just need a third party barcode control to create barcodes in your program. You can surf on the internet about barcode control plus the program you are using. Good luck!
