    Default Anyway to Bevel?

My friend owns an older version of Web Designer. She has features on it that 5.0 doesn't offer, mainly a bevel tool and a contour tool. She is able to create 3-D borders around her jpeg pictures. Does anyone know if 5.0 offers this feature? Because I can't find it.

    Hi KStorm,

    Welcome to TG.

There has only been one version of Xara Web Designer released so far (v5) earlier this year.
This is new software for Xara.

Only Xara Xtreme has the tools you describe.

With a little ingenuity you can create bevels in Web Designer.

The attached image and .web file are a quickly made example. With a little patience a more accurate bevel can be created.

I'm not a very technical person. Can you tell me how you did this?

Basically use of shapes, slicing and shade to create the effect of a bevel.
Here's one way to achieve that result.
Note that basic knowledge of Web Designer tools is expected here, such as using Ctrl to constrain lines to angles and rectangles to squares.

As usual Steve, an excellent tutorial, on how to bevel this time. Thank you very much, not being an artist (cause I think you have that eye) I would never have thought of this solution.

    Thanks again,
    Ed......:-)

All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.

    Very nice video Steve.

KStorm the use of linear fill can make the bevel appear to be rounded.
