    Default Windows 7 compatibility

I downloaded the RC of windows 7 for evaluation and installed on a separate partition.
It seems that Xara Extreme 4.0 doesn't work..
This is not a big problem now but for the future will I have to upgrade to 5.0
(or should I be asking the question elsewhere

    That is very odd Mike.

I have Xara X, X¹, Xtreme 2.0f, Xtreme Pro 3.2.4, Xtreme Pro 4.0, Xtreme 5.1 and Xtreme Pro 5.1 all running well on Windows 7 RC.

The only version I needed to preconfigure compatibility for was Xara X.

Maybe an uninstall then reinstall would correct the problem.

I also have the MAGIX Xtreme Photo & Graphics program running on Win7 RC.

I have been using several generations of Windows7 and all of XP5 and XWD has been work just fine. Be sure to right click on the program target before you install. Go to compatibility and run the programme for Vista SP2. You need admin rights for these tasks................./syntagm

    Hi syntagm,

As mentioned in my previous post I did not need to use compatibility mode for any version other than the original Xara X from the year 2000.

I simply allowed the CD autorun program to run and the programs installed without issues. This was the case in the previous Beta releases and the RC release.

I do use an Administrator account and disable UAC. However I do not recommend that for most PC users. Although since most people simply click the OK button on dialogs without reading them, the UAC isn't very effective in any case.
