Default vectorization: combine shapes without losing the image?

    Hello,
after vectorizing an image, the result contains many shapes, visible as hundresd of zoenes.
    it looks not good.
is there any way to combine all the shapes, without losing the complete image an only getting a silhouette?

    thank you

    Holger

Hi Holger, Perhaps cloning the image will do the trick. Another possibility is to select all the shapes and give them an outline of a neutral colour.
EDIT: Here's a before and after shot of the clone method.

    Bob.

    Thank you.
I hope, my handbook will tell me how to follow your hints.
I have attached the .xar-file, it is about Mao

my cloning (I have tried it right now) creates only the same object again, how could it do what you did?

    EDIT:
it is not the clone itself, it is the image with the clone laid exactly over, so I see it right?
yes, this reduced the problem, but it s still there.

how does the outline suggestion work?

    Holger,
I think this is what you need, I grouped all your shapes and pressed CTRL k twice.
    I hope this helps you.

    Thank you all.

I don't really understand all the details, but I see, that cloning twice is reducing that irritating shabe...anything.

too sad, that there is no option to combien the shapes, let their borders fade away, so the surface is clean without all that zones.

    Hi Holger
In response to your pm here is another with a little explanation.
I am not good at explaining procedures.
I downloade an Image of Mao
I imported it into my file and used my 'Outline' to cut the Mao image.
Now I have Mao in the shape and can apply effects to
    it.JimMao.xar
