    Default PDF error

Maybe Jerry or anyone from Xara team could explain what does mean this error code I got? -- see attached.

Unfortunately I can't upload xar-file or even screenshot of drawing due to NDA...

    P.S. Xtreme 4 pro, winxp sp3 32bit
Xtreme 3.2 can export as PDF normally

After optimizing my works for PDF export I'd never seen this error more....

    Background layer:
everything different from texts and simple vector shapes converted to bitmap

    Second layer on top:
texts, and simple vector shapes without transperency, gradients, shadows etc etc etc....

Yes, I know, but I need editable PDF. All is vector except drop shadow and this is not the cause of crashing for sure.

I have had a few errors when exporting usually when I have left something off the art board?

Raise a ticket with Xara. That is the only thing that I could suggest or post the xar.file here to see if we can sort it out Alex.

Actually this is simple for achieving
just make copy of layer which have to be bitmaped
and turn off visibility of original layer
and export with option - only visible

I had quite a few errors like that exporting PDF's from Xtreme 4 Pro.

Sometimes it would happen if I was exporting a multiple page document as a PDF. I would have to export one page at a time.

I would also get errors exporting if I had any docking windows open.

One thing that would really bother me was how the drop shadows would mess up the design when exported. I would get anomalies of the objects behind the drop shadow. It would often create a box. My only work around at the time was to bitmap most everything in the file before export. Which is ridiculous, but that's what I had to do.

I think Xtreme's PDF export has been flaky in the past. I still have occasional issues with XP5.

We're getting ready to do a series of ads, this time using XP5, so we'll see how our workflow goes when we send them to press.

    Best of luck!
