    Default Animation is inanimate

I am using XX5 to build my web site.
I created an animation and it works in the animation preview. I exported it as a .swf file.
It does not work in the export & preview.
I uploaded it and it still does not work.

I want the animation to be on the header of my home page.
I only get a still picture (a map) which is part of the animation.
The map is uppposed to expand from small to large then a photograph is supposed to zoom out.

Here is my web site www.mainlands.org.
Can you help me please by looking at the web site.?
    Thank you. Peter

    Hi,
When you make an animation in Xtreme Pro 5 you have to export the animation as an animation, then place a placeholder where youu want the animation to appear, and link to the animation with Web Properties> "replace with Flash" then browse to the SWF file you saved.
If you export the through Xtreme as Export website it exports as a static page.
Hope you can follow that explanation.

Peter as this is a web related issue I have moved your thread to the correct forum.

    Jim is correct.
Animated gif or flash (.swf) must be embedded via a placeholder.

Red face Re: Animation is inanimate

Sorry for incorrect post location Steve. Not sure I know how to post to the correct location; thought I was there

Anyway, I did export it as a swf file.
I created a placeholder on my home page where I wanted it in my header. I put it in the "replace with flash".

Is there something wrong with my swf file? When I try to play the swf file with my media player it does not play; I only see a static image. Other swf files play ok with that player.
I have attached the swf to see if you can play it or see something wrong with it.

    Thank you, Peter

    Hi Peter,
I still don't think you've exported as animation..?
On file menu look for "export animation.."

Oh Boy, I need to read things very carefully! There are 4 "Exports" on the File menu.

You are correct Scotty. I thought exporting as a flash was the correct one.
It works now! Thank you. What a great forum! So many williing and capable members!
