Faux Ink?

I have been using the search function, but I'm not coming up with anything... Does anyone remember a mini-tut (possibly by Ivan) on creating a faux ink look? It involved I believe, layered and feathered lines of different stroke widths, and brushes (a copy of a drawing on four layers, each manipulated separately.)

Updated - Maybe it was charcoal?
