There should be no need to install or run X5 as administrator under Vista or Windows7 as a normal user.
The check box you show is greyed out on my systems.
Are you logged in as a restricted user?
Sledger
I am the administrator of our computer.
I checked run as administrator because I didn't want my kids messing with my settings. It's not greyed out on my system running Vista.
That's normal for all applications under UAC. You can't drag and drop from a program at a low security level (eg. a Windows Explorer with normal privileges) to a program with a higher security level (Xtreme running as admin).
This is a deliberate security measure in Vista, to prevent a variety of attacks where low-trust applications exploit broken message-handling in higher-trust applications to escalate their privileges.
