Try disabling the live drag mode by double clicking the blue dot with arrow in the lower right corner of the XX window.

Thank you for your helpful replies. I tried both: Changing the rendering entry to 1 in the registry improved the situation (why?), on top of this live drag on/off does not seem to make much difference. Anyhow, xtreme pro now reacts as expected without "stuttering".
