    To add to Scotty's clarification it effectively inserts title="" into the image tag after the alt="???....????" attribute. The empty string within the quotes prevents I.E. from displaying any pop up text.

    e.g.
    <img class="xr_ap" src="stove-home_htm_files/10.png" alt="Harold log stove" style="left: 173px; top: 223px; width: 144px; height: 159px; " onmousemove="xr_mo(this,0)"/>

    becomes

    <img class="xr_ap" src="stove-home_htm_files/10.png" alt="Harold log stove" title="" style="left: 173px; top: 223px; width: 144px; height: 159px; " onmousemove="xr_mo(this,0)"/>

    It is a very cumbersome work around but for pages that are not updated too frequently it may be an acceptable solution.

    JimM, Yes, sorry I should have clarified... I understand what 'Find' and Replace does... I just do not understand what replacing 'Style' and 'Title' will do for my document/pages. Thx in advance.
    and...

    Drwyd, Ok, That explains a LOT. Thank you.

    I was sorry to see that this issue doesn't seem to have been patched.

    We stopped using this software because the image names kept changing which meant we had to do a complete upload every time. For large sites, this just isn't practical.

    Also, from a search engine point of view, image names can be invaluable, as can the ability to have a folder structure for the site.

    I think the software is great for home users, but for multi site and commercial users, there are a couple of issues that kill it.

    You should always use the ALT attribute for important images (search engines read this) and remember that Web Designer was not aimed at the market of people who wish to build "commercial" sites.

    I agree that the ALT attribute is useful, but there are times when it is inappropriate given IEs habit of popping up the text.

    Xara is very much aimed at people who wish to build commercial sites. Just take a look at the supplied icons such as shopping carts, best buy awards, 30day money back guarantees etc.

    Please don't get me wrong, XWD is a remarkable piece of software. I really want to use it but each time I open it up I remember 3 or 4 problems that make me shut it down again and go back to Dreamweaver. If these problems are resolved in v. 6 I will gladly throw money at Xara. Just wish it was available now!

    No no, the inclusion of such icons in the design gallery is definitely not implying that you can build commercial shopping sites at all.
    Web Designer is fine a rapid prototyping tool for the professional designer, but certainly not a tool to completely publish such commercial grade sites. Neither is it intended to compete with Dreamweaver (or any HTML editor)

    So was this issue fixed in WD6?

    I'm using Xara Xtreme and have noticed that the images on my web site aren't correctly showing up in a google images search.

    I could use Alt Text or placeholders, but this would be a complate pain in the a*se to implement with the many pictures on my site.

    Please can you implement the feature to allow original file names to be retained when exporting a web site.

    thanks

    Unfortunately not. Graphics do now maintain a static name, but you still can't control the name, so we are stuck with meaningless 26.jpg etc.
