Default THANK YOU for Xtreme 5!

...particularly the OBJECT GALLERY - along with the ability to lock and hide individual objects - makes this upgrade FANTASTIC.

Organizing big and complex designs has always been one of my biggest problems with Xara - the object gallery amazingly simplifies this.

    Thank you!

Hehehehehehe... even people who are super double plus delighted with XX5 still only consider it an UPGRADE.

A new version is an upgrade of an older version.

If I purchase a new automobile that is considered to be an upgrade because it is newer than my previous automobile. If I purchase a same model year but a more luxurious model that is also considered an upgrade.

Yes, a MAJOR version increase is probably a bit too much - but well, companies act like this nowadays. It seems like version numbers have morphed from an accurate piece of technical information to a marketing instrument, ala "GOT MORE VERSION!?!?@?$#$$@#" - seems like companies are thus "afraid" of calling a version anything else than 12.0 :-)

But we call it Xtreme5.1 while it is actually 11-th release of this program, if I remember correctly. So if we wanted this version game we could easily call it Xtreme 11.
Seriously though, the major version number usually is a number of the full official release. It is not directly related to the functionality of the product. It is even possible that the same product with higher major version number is less funcional that the older one.

covoxer: OK In bigger software projects of mine, I usually use the following versioning scheme:

    Version a.b.c

    - Increment c for small fixes and additions
    - Increment b for bigger new features, reset c
    - Increment a for complete rewrites of major parts of the application, reset b and c

But well, I don't have to use version numbers as a marketing instrument

Yes, it's not a rule, I just have described one way around.
After all, we already had a full official release with no major version change (Xtreme 3.2). So it's not that strict anyway.
