Indesign 2.0 doesn't seem happy with .ai exports from Xara X, and indeed Xara X mentions substitutions when reading the .ai file back. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul
I have found that Illustrator does not support many of Xara's features, gradient transparency to name just one. And so when you export to AI there can be some problems.
Fonts do not map properly even though the same fonts are installed.
You are better off exporting a Xara EPS file and placing it in InDesign. I have done this and with good success.
Xara's EPS filter is more suited to the things Xara can do.

Thanks Gary. I notice the exporter doesn't take notice of selections and there's still a problem with text substitution unless the text is converted to curves.
At least it works!
Thanks again, Paul.
