Lasso/Mask Icon

I just received my cd and updated my XX5Pro installation.

Been playing around with it today and wanted to play with the mask. However, there is a blank spot were the lasso use to be on the standard toolbar next to the magnet (snap to objects). I can still turn on masking via the menu (Windows-> Mask mode on), the short cut (control-m), or if I enable the Button Palette, it is displayed there next to the magnet and works if I click it on or off.

Any idea how I can get it back? Not sure if it was the cd upgrade that caused it or me playing around.

Never mind.

I reset the bars and it showed back up.

for the record:

you can create a new control bar and ALTdrag off the button palette those buttons you need, then dock the new bar if you wish

or you can ALTdrag onto an existing bar [not info bar]

ALTdrag from a bar removes the button

[click 'new' on control bars dialog box to create new control bar]

there is a mask bar listed among the standard bars [last time I looked the button was a different one to the lasso, but appeared to work the same]

The Mask icon should already appear on the Infobar next to the orange magnet icon.

The Help menu (Help > Xara Xtreme Help > Index > Masks) has helpful information on Masks and how to create and edit them.

possibly an ALTdrag - I seem to recall if you ALTdrag a bar, and your mouse happens to be over where the 'close cross' is as you do it, its easy to loose the whole bar...

Actually, mine's missing too. After installing from the CD, the mask icon no longer shows on the standard toolbar! Nor is it on the Mask toolbar. Dragging a new version from the button palette onto the toolbar puts the icon next to the old blank space that doesn't have an icon on it .......

not installed from CD here yet.... sounds like the the duplicate button has been removed, but maybe its ghost lives on

could try ALTdragging the 'empty space' and see if that moves the bar or fixes it?

So I'm NOT going crazy (or at least crazier). I had found the mask toolbar also and that was blank also. I'm sure I hadn't had the chance to mess that one up as I didn't know it was there until I started looking for a way to restore the mask icon. Everything came back when I reset the toolbar, though I had to reposition them again.

When I did that, it undocked my galleries and now they won't dock any more. I had them docked on the rh side of the screen, and they dock fine in XX4Pro, but, no matter how hard I try they just won't dock anymore.

one thing to check using XaREG:

is 'Galleries Harder To Dock' ticked, if so untick it
