As far as I can tell, you need to make a selection in PS to make an alpha channel. I made this mask in X1, and saved to JPG. Rich

I applied the flare in ML with the mask protecting the fruit. I modified the mask in ML to allow some light near the berries. In this case, the fruit and the background are the same image.

I imagine I could do something similar in X1.

I made flares on transparent images, and have used them in Xara X before.

PS can be a host application, or the applications can run in a standalone mode. From what I have been seeing, the mask is loaded in the FX application. You can creat a selection in PS, make the selection an alpha channel, make the alpha channel a JPG image, and load the JPG. Or, do like I did, and create the JPG in X1 as an alternate method. I am not sure if X1 could be a host application. Rich

The conversion lense for the E10 I think is specific for the camera. It was about $90, and the list was about $140. I bought a three lense set for my DC120 for about $40. The lense for the E10 fits to 62 mm, and is 72 mm at the end. The other lenses were 37 mm. The E10 has a special set up for using conversion lenses. So, it isn't as easy to change to macro. In macro, it uses the CCD for focusing, and not a combination. I ordered on line mostly because there aren't any stores near, and the ones I found didn't carry anything. Rich
