Do you think it makes it had to read whitham, light reflection?

I'd welcome any other comments about the shortcut card as this is first time we've had one for Xara X and I just took a stab at it. I can always do a version 2 in the future perhaps, if they're popular enough and the feedback warrants it.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.

    Anthony
I would agree with jwhitham - perhaps just a wee touch too glossy, the light reflection can interfere with it a bit.
Other than that, I think it is great and very useful (me being a bit allergic to shortcuts, as I have just been too lazy to learn, no excuses now http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif).

I love the size, perfect for sitting on your desk without taking up valuable space, the board is a good weight, no flopping over!

The only other wee comment I would have but I would say firstly that I appreciate the constraints (ie. lots of info on little space) is that I find the layout and size of the icons on the first page excellent, the inside and reverse inparticular take studying rather than a quick glance.

My boxed version arrived this morning, not bad - 20 miles in 2 days, from a Royal Mail van. The normal randomly selected semi-sober student should be bringing the normal mail between 4-5pm as usual - but the van doesn't mean Royal Mail took any more care over the parcel - it'd have been in better shape if I used it as a skateboard for the 20 miles round the M25.

The sooner that Royal Mail lose their monopoly, the better!

The card is a great size - it is the right amount of shiny for me, more plastic is good because it can't get spoiled when it gets tea dripped on it!

You should run an examination system where a Xara member of staff rings a user at random each day and demands to know a particular shortcut (no cheating - learn them all by heart) and if someone gets more than three wrong, they have to use Freehand for their next project.

Seriously though, from a distance the toolbar buttons on the front look good, but up close they're pixelly - the big Transparency (glass) picture inside is much clearer - perhaps use vector images on the front for the next version? Oh, and red or a lighter blue for the highlighting on 'side 3'.

The Royal Mail made a petty good job of flatenning my box too, in the course of 47.12 miles (checked on the AA website).

Seriously the shortcut card is great as is.

Sorry for following up my own post.

The second boxed version that I ordered for work turned up this morning, and that was ordered a couple of weeks after the first. So a vote of thanks from me to the Xara packing team, as I can now sign the order off and be reimbursed for it!

This time the box wasn't flattened, however there are bloodstains on the jiffy bag. Is all well at Xara Towers?

Thanks for the comments on the shortcut card. They are all being taken on board.

jwitham, our packing team has been going twenty to the dozen. So I'm glad you got yours quickly. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif As to the blood, I know they said their hands were hurting from all the packing but I hope not that much! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

My boxed version arrived in good shape today here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The extra disk with all of Gary's material was included as was the shortcut card. It kind of surprised be to see the Adobe logo on the extra disk and then saw the fine print indicating it was for the use of the PDF file format...

    Hi All,

Recieved mine yesterday (Friday)(Belmont, CA. USA), haven't even installed it yet as I have the downloaded version unlocked with my key code that was included with my reciept. I guess I should do that tonight eh?? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Probably a bug fix or two and I think I heard mentioned that there were a few new movies added to the lot?? Lots of clip art and fills, I'm happy.

I LOVE the shortcut card is just PERFECT!! I think it's a total winner in my book. Small, colorful, compact and the font used is bold enough to really stand out so even my blurry vision can read it. Very thorough!!

    Thanks!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
