Default Re: Interesting bevel-on-text effect ...

Thanks Javier , I understand that, but if I draw a square for instance and insert the fill then look at the bottom of the screen it's a "photo bitmap" not a "shape", but if you check out the .xar you'll see the image - which is a square with the fill inserted - is termed a "shape". And the effect turns out differently [oldest one on the left].

I'm probably not explaining myself very well and it's not very important, it's just frustrating I can't reproduce the first image on the .xar. I've obviously done something to it before adding bevels.

let me see if I understood.
The problem is how did you get the first drawing, the ellipse with that fill?.
Can you send me the original you wanna get because I'm lost about what's the shape to reproduce?.
In the xar file I don't see shapes, I see bitmaps as if you were converted the original shape to bitmap.
On the other hand if I draw a rectangle and fill it with that bitmap the rectangle remains as shape, I can modify it as usual.

I'm trying to work out what steps I took to create the left-hand image which, if you select it in the .xar, you'll see is a "shape". I tried to reproduce that with the second image - by creating a square and entering the fill - but if selected you'll see it's a "photo - bitmap" and the resulting effect is different.

I must have done something extra to make that left-hand image. The "really" stupid thing is, I made the Angel image a couple of days ago and must have done the same thing as the resulting effect comes out the same. There's a step missing.

If I'd paid attention to what I was doing in the first place ....!

    Thanks for your time

Thumbs up Re: Interesting bevel-on-text effect ...

I can't still reproduce how to achieve you the first ellipse, but to get the 2 diferent fills on the bevel images below the ellipses you have to change the order.

    First image

    Draw a rectangle
    Apply bevel
Click over the center and aplly a repeating bitmap fill
Click on the bevel and apply a repeating bitmap fill

    Second image

    Draw a rectangle
    Apply a repeating bitmap fill
    Apply a bevel.

I'm fighting with the first problem, as soon as I get the answer I'll send it to you.

Thanks Javier, I appreciate it. Tried with your suggestion but I end up with a different shape - the one on the left. It's a puzzle, isn't it?!

I made a mistake when witten the first image,

    First image

    Draw a rectangle
    Apply bevel
Click over the center and aplly a repeating (should be non repeating) bitmap fill
Click on the bevel and apply a repeating bitmap fill

    I'm uploading the xar file.
