    Question Downloading to XWD

    Hi people,

    1. I am trying to add to the gallery function.
If I request more templates inside XWD it SEEMS to do so, but nothing comes down (Are those very few examples that come with it (even in demo mode) all there are?

    2. I downloaded XWD105tweaks1015 and followed destructions and all I got was the location and filename and nothing in it in gallery view except for a box divided in 4.

If you followed the Tweakset instructions correctly, you will see a new folder in the Designs Gallery 'Tweaks'

If you don't, then you have missed something - go back and try again

Thumbs down Re: Downloading to XWD

    Hi Sledger,
    Did both again.
Same result. Nothing new came down in the Gallery update internally again. It does look as tho it has worked, but.......
unless the original 25 " template folders" are all we get after purchase. Nothing new at all.
And just those very few image files.

How many templates and/or images should this produce?

Tweaks no result either. It sets up a folder with full address, but nothing it it.

Will get some sleep and have another careful look tomorrow.

Good night all - from downunder.

Yes, it's all templates awailable now form Xara.
    Nothing new at all.
Not true. In the trial wersion all the 25 folders contain only thumbnails, there's no templates.
Only Introduction template is supplied with trial version.

    Hi John,

So that's it! Looks like I've been a bit spoiled by other programs tried - even freebies as supplied by WebHosters, where you get literally hundreds of everything.

So, I did expect a lot more images and page layouts in the paid version and thought "something was wrong" with the additional download!

Of course, XWD is so easy to collate Sites with, it is not a problem

    Cheers!

But the beauty of WD is that you can make your own unique templates/sites easily and therefore not have a web site which looks like everyone else's who just used the supplied starter kit

True, but that does not take into acount those who ONLY want the easy way to go. Proven setups, legal images.....

Actually there is far too much emphasis placed on "prettiness" out in the cyberbog and far too little on content - but it is nice to use a Site that is "cyberergonomically" sound. (meaning you can find things and avoid pointless flash - TV does it much better anyway..... )

I'm looking forward to getting my head around XWD - I think it will be a great timesaver for me.
There are only a few "blindspots" left for me.

    Well, folks,
I have no idea why - but this a.m. I was showing SWWMBO ("She who must be obeyed" - any other oldies here?) what didn't work and it did.

    Another druidic-type mystery of computing.........

WOW! How very useful those tweaks will be to an old technophobe like me!

    THANK YOU!

I think many of us have a SWMBO around--regardless of age.
